Excellence in Business Awards

The Excellence in Business Awards were created to give both residents and organizations a chance to recognize the very best businesses who operate in New Kent County. The categories are:

  • At Your Service — For a retail or service business that brings positive recognition to New Kent County
  • Made in New Kent — recognizes a business demonstrating product quality, increased sales growth, and sales for a product assembled or produced in New Kent County
  • Workforce Development of the Year — presented to an employer that has consistently made workforce development a priority by offering employee training or by investing money and/or other resources in local programs that positively affect local workforce development
  • Best Small Business (10 or fewer employees) — a New Kent County business with impressive innovations, quality products, services, marketing, and managerial skills
  • Best Large Business (11 or more employees) — a New Kent County business with impressive innovations, quality products, services, marketing, and managerial skills
  • Business Citizen of the Year — a person from our business community who has served as a good ambassador to the community
